GENERAL: Showcase Reptiles agrees to provide the services outlined on the Boarding Form, which you, the owner, must complete for each visit. We reserve the right to exercise our best judgment in providing the selected services and will ensure your pet’s safety. We will maintain a clean and secure environment, providing proper feeding and housing in clean, safe quarters.
REQUIREMENTS: If the animal was not purchased at our store, we require a wellness check from a Vet clinic stating the animal is in good health at least 1 week prior to drop-off date. The letter can be emailed over to us at showcase.reptiles@gmail.com. We also require that the animal come in its own enclosure. We cannot offer a temporary one. Your animal will be more comfortable and less stressed being in its own enclosure.
PAYMENT FOR SERVICES: You must pay for the entire stay upfront. If your pet’s stay exceeds the scheduled duration, please inform us as soon as possible. Payment for the additional days must be made at the time of departure.
PETS NOT PICKED UP ON DEPARTURE DATE: If you or your agent fail to pick up your pet on the agreed-upon departure date, we will continue to provide the daily services outlined in the Boarding Form. However, if your pet is abandoned, as defined by local or state regulations, we will follow the Abandoned Pet Procedure outlined below.
ABANDONED PET PROCEDURE: Once deemed abandoned, all non-essential services for such a pet, except for basic care, will be terminated. Showcase Reptiles will send a certified letter (with return receipt requested) to the address provided on this document on the fifth day following the scheduled Departure Date of your pet. This letter will inform you that if your pet is not picked up within ten days of the notification date, it will be deemed abandoned. In such cases, we will be compelled to contact the appropriate authorities for delivery or, if permitted by law, a third-party adoption partner to place it for adoption. Please note that all adoption fees will be your sole responsibility. You will remain liable to us for any unpaid charges, including court costs and reasonable attorney’s fees, incurred in the collection of these charges.
CONTACT WITH OTHER PETS: While your pet is staying with us, it may come into contact or be exposed to other pets. You acknowledge and agree that in the unlikely event of an injury to your pet due to another pet, we will not be held responsible. Conversely, if your pet injures another pet, you will be solely responsible for any resulting injuries, whether to your pet or another.
COMMON AFTER-AFFECTS: Weight loss is a common side effect of a change in environment. Being away from home, surrounded by other animals, eating different food, and experiencing excitement can all affect your pet’s appetite and gastrointestinal balance. Other common occurrences include: Colds: Just like human children in daycare, the risk of upper respiratory infections is higher in group settings such as dog parks, on the sidewalks where other animals frequent, or veterinary clinics.
TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION & EMERGENCIES: You agree that Showcase Reptiles may provide first aid or other necessary care for your pet at its sole discretion. Showcase Reptiles is authorized by the owner to provide care at the owner’s expense. If we believe your pet needs veterinary care, we’ll try to contact you before obtaining it. However, this document authorizes us to obtain veterinary care for your pet, regardless of our ability to reach you. You’re also responsible for the veterinary care costs, whether or not you’re contacted
LIMITED WARRANTY: Showcase Reptiles can’t guarantee against accidents, and we’re not liable for loss or damage caused by or to animals at our facility unless we’re negligent. The owner agrees to be solely responsible for any attacks or damage caused by their pet while in our care.
